Edlounge is a learning platform to help students improve their outcomes through a personalised e-learning pathway.

My Roles

Created original, subject specific educational games, mini-games and software.

Integrated 80+ games with the Edlounge website and administrated all new and existing games.

Worked in a small team to design and develop new educational games for the Edlounge website.

Worked with freelancers to create new games, fix bugs in existing games and upload their new games onto the Edlounge website.

A Summary

Edlounge was created in 2009 as an inclusive resource to educate students that were in inclusion and exclusion, with an aim to develop their knowledge in Maths, English and Science.

EDlounge has four main elements:

1. EDLounge - Personalised Learning Is a learning platform to help your students improve their outcomes through a personalised e-learning pathway

2. EDCLass - Remote Learning Is a remote learning application designed to help break barriers to learning with assistance through EDLounge qualified and assisted tutors

3. EDVirtual - Virtual Classroom Is the Virtual Classroom which your staff can used to help disengaged students gain qualifications, attend an online classroom and achieve their goals

4. EDSimple - School Management Platform The most comprehensive School Improvement Management Platform and Learning Environment. EDSimple will stream line your whole school practices.

Developed to teach touch typing skills to students in primary schools (ages 5-11).

Project Details

Magically Qwerty was developed for Edlounge in just two weeks. The game was made to develop touch typing skills for students between the ages of 5-11.

I personally loved making this game and enjoy playing it. It must be one of my favourite games made for Edlounge.

You need to defend your castle walls against the goblin hoards who want to steal your gold!

Choose a wizard to protect the walls from the warty invaders. You need to type out spells correctly and as quickly as possible to defeat the enemies. Stop as many as you can before you are overwhelmed. Let the light conquer over darkness.

Project Details

Flight Math was originally developed for Edlounge in 2014. The game was re-made by myself as the old version was becoming outdated. This game was created to help students with their mental mathematics.

I enjoyed remaking this game as I got to put my own spin on the game whilst still using inspiration from the old version of the game.

Flight Math enables you to train your mathematical skills whilst flying around our flight simulator.

Project Details

Circulator was developed for Edlounge in a week. The game was made to teach students about the organs of the body and how blood flows through the body.

In this pipe puzzle game you need to correctly connect the flow of blood from the heart to particular organs.

Link oxygenated blood (red pipes) to an organ so it can continue to function properly. You also need to link the deoxygenated blood (blue pipes) from the organ back to the heart. Make a complete blood circuit to keep the body working.

Shape Mania was developed for Edlounge in two weeks. The game was made to teach students spacial awareness and time management.

Welcome to the Shape Mania builders yard. Costruction is underway of a new super tower complex. The builders need you to send them up shape material so they can continue construction. Through a series of levels you must fit these shapes into crates that can be sent up to the builders. If they don't fit then the crate will come crashing down and delay the construction!

Welcome to the Shape Mania builders yard. Costruction is underway of a new super tower complex. The builders need you to send them up shape material so they can continue construction. Welcome fellow adventurer to the Valley of the Kings where fame and fortune awaits. An extraordinary new tomb has recently been discovered called the Temple of Ra. Strange crystals have been found that are key to unlocking more of the tomb which are apparently powered by the sun. Use mirrors in tomb to reflect light in a path to these ‘sun crystals’ so you can explore the darker depths. How far will you go for fame and fortune?

Get ready to play some darts. You can play three different game types which are target score, countdown and blackout. In target score you need to reach a certain score in as few darts as possible. In countdown you need to get from a score to zero in as few darts as possible. In blackout you need to reach a target score in as few darts as possible but you can’t use a section more than once.

You are a sophisticated antivirus tasked with protecting your computer system from dangerous and malicious viruses. You will need to assess if files, programs or software are safe to allow into your system. Defend your system and make sure you don’t become infected!

Undead cardboard zombies are terrorising the world and turning people into paper pulp. You must use your cunning and wisdom in order to survive. Answer questions to gather supplies and paintball ammunition. You must survive as many waves of cardboard undead as possible or risk being turned into pulp.

Dr Lang has been busy building more linguistic inventions. His latest is the Spell-o-vision, a machine designed to quicken your mind and language skills. As a willing test subject you get to try it out.

Your aim is to correctly type out what the television is showing you. Try and do this for as many images as possible within the time limit.

In this game you are a bee. You are not just any bee, you're a spelling bee.

You collect pollen from the spelling sunflower. As a worker bee you need to avoid misspelt sunflowers and collect the pollen from the correctly spelled ones. This is important as you don't want pollen that is going to make substandard honey. The better the pollen, the yummier the honey.
